Hello everyone!

Sorry for the delay in this post going live. I’ve been super busy sorting my life out and painting and decorating the boyfriends bedroom, but excitingly, I’ve got some great autumnal photo shoots coming up and I’m super excited to share with you my favourite looks so far this season! I thought I’d give you a breath of fresh air aside from fashion today, so I’ve decided to share with you my favourite healthy snacks and tips I often incorporate into my diet. Enjoy!

Detoxing Spinach Smoothie:

  • handful of spinach (or other leaves lol)
  • 1 banana or 2 mini nana’s
  • 1 apple
  • 1 orange
  • water or milk as required

Peel fruit as desired, chop into cubes and blend everything together! I love green detox smoothies, whether it a placebo affect or not, they make you feel so refreshed and full of goodness afterwards. Spinach is full of iron and lowers blood levels, while supplying the body with essential vitamins such as; vitamins K, A and C. (I use the Breville Blend Active blender £22/$28)

Rock Cakes:

  • 225g/8oz Self-raising flour
  • 75g/2.5oz caster sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 125g/4.5oz butter
  • 150g/5.5oz dried fruit
  • 1 free-range egg
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • (handful of walnuts or plain nuts if desired)

This recipe was taught my lovely nan as I grew up. I’d take them to school, wrapped in tin foil and usually I’d lose in the bottom of my bag but when I’d find them, I would become the happiest little girl! I love these treats, and a sprinkling of sugar on top for the sweet-toothed people out there would taste amazing too! You can find the full recipe here (BBC explains it much better than myself lol)

Fruit & Veg Skewers:

  • Wooden skewers
  • Apple and cheese cubes
  • melon slices
  • grapes and strawberries
  • banana

When I was a young girl, I was almost certainly the opposite to how I am today. I hated fruit and veg, they were so boring to me, and the taste wasn’t simply anything like chocolate! Now, I believe making fruit and veg more exciting when it comes to appearance, is key. If you have no time to make a juicy bowl of fruit salad topped with cream, then simply chop fruit up and stick them on wooden skewers and be creative with the colouring! I used to love apple and cheese dipped in salad cream, just me?! It’ll never be too childish for me, they’re fun and creative and you can just stick them in the fridge for another day!

Banana Loaf:

  • 140g butter
  • 140g caster sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 140g self-raising flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 squidgy bananas, mashed
  • 50g icing sugar (for decoration)

I love banana cake, it’s full of flavour and very moist to the touch. For me, It’s a real treat! (BBC once again explains this recipe more than I can lol, click here) This was another childhood favourites!

Salad Dressings:

This is probably something everybody’s heard of, but not everyone has tried the huge variety of salad dressings there are in local supermarkets. My boyfriend is not a great fan of plain, boring salads, so he’ll always use either balsamic vinegar or my favourite dressing which is – fig glaze! Just take a stroll down the dressing aisle and pic out some that interest you, they usually transform your salads trust me!

    I have to admit, I’m not healthiest gal hehhe, particularly when it comes to snacks (I would never opt for fruit), but this has actually made me want to try healthier foods.. definitely going to try the banana loaf and rock cake:)
